Author Workshops

As a former classroom teacher, Jane effortlessly interacts with students, engaging even the most reluctant of learners. Using examples from her books, Jane will:

-reveal where she finds inspiration

-review the story elements required for writing

-guide students through the writing process

-take students on an imaginary journey to a magical land (primary students)

-encourage critical thinking and problem solving during an ‘escape room’ activity (junior students)

-describe the challenges encountered during the publishing process

-demonstrate how to sew together a book which students will use to publish their own stories

The 90-minute classroom workshop incudes many opportunities for active participation leaving students inspired and motivated to create their own stories. At the end of the workshop, students sew together paper books for publishing their work.
